Something Kay was eternally proud of, which was a huge part of who she was, was studying to become a nurse at what she would call the Royal Cancer Hospital - now known as the Beatson. She would tell us of needing to stay in board and lodge, of sneaking out with pals to go dancing and to watch television recordings in Glasgow. She continued to donate to and cherish the Beatson and the hospital’s work throughout her life, with a new Beatson bobble proudly hanging on the Christmas tree each year.
